These presentations will be more business-oriented that our usual tech approach. It can be a step towards getting financing or management or whatever help it needs to grow and become an enterprise able to provide
employment here in Montreal.

a) is this interesting?
b) I know one banker and one VC. Do you know any more who might come?
c) do you want to present your app?

Présentation tablette 7″ eBuzz sous Android 2.1 et logiciel et aussi présentation d’un outil de programmation: Basic4Android.

Fabian Rodriguez
will present on the Replicant project and the
new f-droid repository for free open source software. He would like to have
an open discussion about different business models where developers
can publish their applications as free open source software while
making money and building a community around it.

John Brohan
will make a short presentation about maintaining a paid and free version of an app using the same code base.
There are several approaches to this requirement. This is a simple approach requiring a little editing of the Manifest.xml
and setting a boolean somewhere in the java code.
It is hoped that others, more skilled in java, will present their (no doubt superior) solutions in the following sessions.

The meeting will be on Thursday at ETS Auditorium.
Please bring your tablet if you got one at Christmas.

Workshop pour debutants dès 17h30.

Presentation:

Starting with Android’s overall architecture, this talk will delve into the following topics in detail: boot process, Linux kernel androidisms, core system libraries, hardware support architecture, Dalvik VM, core Java libraries, application framework, main applications, development and debugging tools, and the Android Open Source Project. The goal will be to allow application developers to better understand what’s going on under their feet and enable developers wishing to port/modify Android to their hardware to have a starting point.
